TNT Reseller Mailing schemes

Postby bpfAdmin » Wed Jan 27, 2010 1:03 am

Hello all,

We currently process 20-60,000 mailing pieces per month and all go through the standard Royal mail processes, but today i had a phone call from TNT offering me an incentive scheme as a reseller of their postage products.

So if i get my customers using TNT for all their mailings i can receive a 'commission' for all the mail. This sounded too good to be true as we have never had a choice on mailing provider before but as with all these things if it looks too good... anyway. It turns out that TNT cannot carry 1st class post as it takes them a day to process the mail in their depots before it get submitted to the relevant Royal Mail sorting office and by doing this not offering the not quiet 'next day' service of Royal Mails First Class.

So if you have a lot of customers/clients or maybe you submit a lot of second class and slower mailing items then its worth a look you will not only save money on the postage for the customer but you can earn a commission on the whole package.

I hope that helps.

Yes - we have just been approached by TNT with this scheme! - If we switch clients from Royal Mail to TNT they give a commission of about £3 per 1000 letters! (Just enough to pay for the coffee and cake while you process the job!). Not worth bothering with really unless you are mailing LARGE quantities.

Yes, TNT Premier post is a 2 day service - at a good price for quantities over 4000 - they do not have a 1st class equivalant. Remember Royal Mail offer good discounts on 'Cleanmail' (barcoded letters) and mailsort, especially mailsort 3 (takes them 7ish days to deliver) ideal for heavier Large Letter items.

Thanks for the clarification.

It looks like its going to be a while before a service that rivals the Royal Mail (unfortunatly!) comes to the for-front. I find it hard to explain to our customers if some of the mailings dont arrive - and always at the key addresses!

Maybe we should start our own  but 30p to get a letter north to south is not that bad really! if it gets there :)

Yes - it does amaze me when it works! I had a 1st class mailing go out last week and I know that 20 out of 20 1st class letters arrived throughout the country the next day - and we get 1st class for about 28p! If you would like me to work on getting a cheaper rate on the 20k you send per month let me know - typically it will be 20p ish per letter!
