Has the Internet killed small print broking work?

Postby bpfAdmin » Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:03 pm

Hi all.

I had an interesting meeting with a print manager today. She has found that she is constantly coming up against prices from the internet and ultimatly not winning the work. Now we know that there is no way that the personal service shouldnt win but people will always look after their wallets first and when it goes wrong they will have very little come back.

So whats the answer? We have 2 production sites in the UK and over 300 other suppliers on our books all rated and monitored for consistancy of service and product. I know we are lucky and organised in this manor but the smaller print broker cannot have such management processes but they will have 'special' releationships with printers they know that are capable of producing the specific job so in this case, knowledge is power as i bet the job will get done correctly first time, on time and to price.

So dont forget your local brokers they may not be £2.00 cheaper than the latest online offers but they will manage your job the same as if it was their own.

Keep the print faith :)

Thanks
